M.R. #2 -- REX
Hello everyone! Welcome to the second post in this segment! Hope you are all well and that you are finding this blog to be interesting still.
So, today I want to talk about a movie I have just watched. It is based on a real life story and let me tell you, I was so invested in this that I cried.
This movie tells us the story of Corporal Megan Leavey and the bond she had with her combat dog, Rex.
(Spoiler alert, I will mention a few spoilers in this review!)

Movie Review #2 -- Rex
(also known as Megan Leavey)
This movie tells us the story of Corporal Megan Leavey and the bond she had with her combat dog, Rex.
(Spoiler alert, I will mention a few spoilers in this review!)
What you need to know about the movie:
- Megan had a tough time bonding with other people
- She met Rex when she joined the Marines
- She immediately fell in love with the dogs (even though she was afraid of Rex at first)
- Rex becomes her partner and they get deployed together
- It is based on a real story.
Alright. One of the main aspects of the movie that made me fall in love with it was the fact that Rex is a German Shepherd. I absolutely love German Shepherds and so far I've had two (one of them was named Rex even!).
Not only they are incredibly smart animals, but they are also very beautiful and majestic.
The story, as I have mentioned, was based on real events. Everything that happened in the movie, happened first in real life. Megan was deployed to Iraq with Rex and their bond become even more profound than it was. Megan fell in love with this dog that saved her life.
The movie was brilliantly filmed and the dog that played Rex was beautiful. He was a very good boy, he managed to show distress, pain and even anger. I was quite impressed with how they made their dogs so well behaved (there were so many of them! And all of them were absolutely amazing!!).
Kate Mara, who played Megan, did a fantastic job as well. Both her performance and the dog's had me in tears multiple times. Kate definitely managed to show a lot of emotion, PTSD and pain throughout the move. It was beautiful to watch.
The script of the movie had to be very good for it to be so amazing. The whole team must have put a lot of effort into this movie because it literally had me and Jack trying to guess what would happen to Rex and if Megan would finally be able to adopt him.
Overall, I am very happy with this movie. I will most likely watch it again. (Yes, I like to suffer sometimes.)
I definitely recommend everyone to watch it (it's on Netflix!!) and to shed a few tears as they see Megan and Rex become a team.
Let me know in the comments what was the last movie you watched? Did it make you cry? Feel free to drop any movie suggestions in the comments so I can give you my opinion on it!
