New Link Who This
Helloooo!
Just a couple of weeks ago, I started a new job. I did my training for one week and then the week after I went 'live' and started to do what I am meant to be doing.
I have started working in a call centre. So far, it has only been a two weeks since I started there but I am already enjoying it. Sure, it is a difficult job - so far I have received one death threat - and people don't always appreciate it when you're trying to help them while doing your job. But there is one thing I have learnt for sure.
No matter what the customer says to me, I am in control. I am the one with the script, the one that knows what I am talking about and I am definitely the one that can help them if they are willing to let me.
On my first day of my second week, I was sat next to one gentleman that has been ever so helpful whenever I am feeling down. 'Mr. M' keeps on making me feel like I am in charge of what I am doing and he keeps reassuring me I can do it. I would have been so overwhelmed if it weren't for him. Not only he keeps mentoring me and helping me to do better, he also keeps on pushing me to do what I want.
Just the other day he was telling me I should be applying for writing jobs instead of staying there. He makes me feel like a young Jedi learning their way through the Force from Master Yoda. He surely has been very good to me, so much that he keeps telling me that I have no excuse not to be writing all the time - in between calls or whenever really. So the reason for this new link is because of something he said to me. He told me, "You should be writing right now. You could be writing a memoir and posting it. Getting visibility. Doing what you want."
So I went home and as I cuddled with Jack, I decided that I wanted to be as inspiring as Mr. M, I decided that I would be doing as much as I can to gain visibility and put myself out there as I possibly can. For that reason, I created a page on Facebook - and as I linked it to my Instagram, it has my name on it instead of "Sofia's Memoirs" as it should be (I am currently trying to change the page's name but Facebook isn't being very easy with it).
My new year's resolution to write more and more often has become a lot easier now that I have decided to do this. I have a lot more faith in myself now that I took the first step into getting it all out. I will be writing stories and carry on updating this blog with either relevant information about my life or just some random moments I think are worth sharing. I will definitely keep you all updated on how my new job is going -- as well as how my writing is doing.
So yes. Let 2019 be the year of change! (but not too much change... there's a few things I'd like to remain the same)
Follow this blog to be notified when I make new posts. Let me know if you have been inspired by someone this year or if you are inspiring someone instead!
See you later, Alligator! :)
